A note on fence heights
As a rule of thumb across England, a rear garden fence up to two metres doesn't need planning permission, and one metre is the usual limit where a boundary meets a road or footpath. Conservation areas — Merton Park being the local one — can be tighter, and a listed building changes things again. We'll flag it if your job looks like one to check with the council first, but the final word is always theirs.
