Fencing in Sutton.

Sutton is a straight run south from us and one of the areas we cover most. Away from the town centre it's overwhelmingly suburban — interwar and post-war semis and detacheds on decent-sized plots, with back gardens that back onto each other rather than onto anything open.

That makes for a lot of straightforward, well-sheltered boundary runs, which is the one situation where panel fencing genuinely is the sensible choice: quicker to fit, cheaper than closeboard, and with nothing much to blow at it, it will last. We'll still put concrete gravel boards underneath, because timber sitting in soil is what kills a panel fence long before the wind does.
